I
was going to go to Colemore Common today, but it is fantastic weather and I
persuade Adrian (surprisingly easily) to go flying with me. Colemore would be
a bit dull for him, so I decide to go round the Isle of Wight again. Date: 9/2/2008

Adrian's First Flight
I
was going to go to Colemore Common today, but it is fantastic weather and I
persuade Adrian (surprisingly easily) to go flying with me. Colemore would be
a bit dull for him, so I decide to go round the Isle of Wight again.
After
fueling and inspection, we are finally off on 08 and head off south-ish. We
pass over Ropley station and then I give Ade a go on the joystick on the way
to Butser Hill. I do the throttle and the balance with the rudder; he soon gets
the hang on it. Although the vis is great, we are flying into the low winter
sun.
We
pass over Hayling Island, Langstone Harbour entrance and then over the Solent
towards Bembridge harbour. Then heading west, we drop down to below 2000' at
the river Medina to go below Southampton airspace. Great views round the Needles
and then down the coast to 
St.
Catherine's point, then back up past Ventnor, Sandown and the back across the
Solent to Hayling Island. We go overhead the entrance to Chichester harbour,
up the Island, past Havant and back to Petersfield.
Over Ropley we pass a steam train on the Watercress Line and then past Popham - we have some spare time, so we head up to Hannington and play around there a bit, then back for a rejoin. Landing was less bumpy than it looks in the video (Camera held at arms length).
