Monday and it's good weather, so I dash over to the airfield after work. No real plan except just to go for a bimble.
After take off etc, I decide to see how straight I can fly and head north towards Hannington mast, then west and looking at the GPS track, it doesn't look to bad.
After a clearing turn I then try a couple of steep banked turns, which don't show-up too well, as it only samples every 10 seconds. Then onto some reasonably slow flight, below 40 knots, followed by some fast flying at over 100 knots, which I haven't done before - interesting.
After some fixed radius turning, I then head back toward the Popham, but some idiot is flying an air balloon fairly low over the airfield. I have to waste some time to the south until I'm confident I can land safely. But once down, I am too concerned about the balloons height that appears to be dropping, to do some circuits, so I settle for a couple of low hops.
