Bembridge

The forecasts last night suggested risk of thunder storms, but today they are all better again. Decided to try Bembridge on the Isle of Wight. Prepped the plane and took off on 26 at the first intersection, as it was a bit muddy up towards the threshold. The visibility was a bit hazy, but otherwise the weather was great.

Down past Butser Hill and then south to Hayling Island and off over the Solent. Heading into the sun with the haze makes it a bit hard to see. I call Bembridge for joining info wondering exactly where I will see the airfield. Shouldn't have worried as I approached from the sea over Whitecliff bay and there it was. Overflew the airfield and turned north for the circuit whilst descending to circuit height, then back out to Whitecliff bay cliffs and then finals. Touchdown was good and vacated onto the taxiway.

Had a cup of tea and a banana. Found a diagram of the recommended circuit on the wall that appears to be much bigger than the one I flew from textual instructions - if only they would put these diagrams on their website.

Checkover the plane and we're back off again. Back over the Solent and a quick orbit of my brothers house on Hayling. Returned along the reverse of the outbound journey. Good overhead join and nice landing.

Another first - I haven't landed on a hard surface before. I was pleased with today.
