Bimble and Practice (C-42)
A chance to have an evening flight - I escape work at 5pm and ride my new motorbike to the airfield (first time!). When I arrive, it is deserted - the club is the Marie Celeste. The plane is waiting outside and has sufficient fuel for me - great.
Whilst I am checking it out, Shelley and Greg turn up. Shelley asks where I'm going when she see's my high-vis jacket, then realises that I have come on me bike.
After checkover, I'm off on 26 and head off north to Hannington Mast, then turn west. After some clearing turns I do a steep-banked turn in each direction - these are fun. Then I head south-west and remember John talking about the Didcot, Newbury and Southampton Railway, so I turn north and follow this for a while. Then I follow the A34 south past Whitchurch and then rejoin overhead.
Can't remember the last time I had opportunity to do some circuits. I land a bit long due to the lack of wing and taxi back to the threshold and complete a further three full-stop landing circuits as 26 is a bit short for touch and go's especially when there's no wind. Each landing gets bit better.
Good practice.
