Another Bimble

Felt the need to going flying tonight, so slipped out of work early. Haven't flown the Eurostar for a while, so it seemed like a good idea.

Unfortunately, when I get to the airfield, the previous occupant has just put it away, so I have to get it out again. He also said that there was plenty of fuel - over 30l. I'm glad I'm skeptical, because when I dipped it there was only 22. John (the CFI), recently had an engine stop with this aircraft, with 8l left in the tank, after starting with 22.

So after getting it out, checking out and fuelling, I'm off on 21. I head off up towards Hannington Mast. The visibility is really crap, especially towards the setting sun. For fun I fly a number of tight snap 90degree turns on a snaking return to the airfield. .

I join overhead and land on 21. I do 3 more t+g circuits and I thought my height perception was a bit out. In hindsight, I think it was just the sink that can happen down the end of the runway, because all the landings away from the threshold are fine. Finish up with one final circuit with a minor zoom climb.

What fun.
