A big weather front is crossing the country today. I'm hoping to get a flight in after it has gone by, so there didn't seem to be a big hurry to get to the airfield. However, after checking out and preparing the plane, I got delayed talking to someone about hangars (we have just ordered one) and then I found it was very difficult to get the windscreen clear. Whilst warning up the engine I had imagined it would clear but it didn't, so I stopped and tried a cloth, but I think the cloth had windscreen cleaner impregnated in it and with the moistness was just make it smear.

Finally I am lining up on 03 but I only have just over half an hour of legal daylight left. Due to weather and massive overloading (and stress) at work I haven't flown for 4 weeks, so this should be interesting. I take off and head north. At Overton I do an orbit round a sort of playing field with a huge fire in it - presumably for Guy Fawkes night apart from there didn't seem to be many people there. I then enjoy some steep banked turns to the left and then the right finishing with a little dive.

However, it is getting darker, so I had better head back to Popham. I join overhead and circuit round, but I have left it a bit late and there doesn't seem to be any headwind to help, so rather than attempt to squeeze it in, I go around. Second go it again a bit long, but a good landing, so I guess I'm not too rusty.

Getting too dark to attempt any more circuits, so I put her to bed. Just really needed to get in the air, so I have achieve than and although brief, I enjoyed that.
