Yatesbury

We only have the afternoon today, so we are restricted to relatively local - we are going to Yatesbury. Today, we have Colin in his Eurostar, Ian and his son Jon in a club Eurostar and me on my own in the EuroFOX. Ian has suggested that he would like to take a few photos on the way.

Once we are all fuelled and prepped, I take off first from 26 and then circle into the overhead to wait for the others. As I come round, I can see a Eurostar making away from me - thinking that this is Ian, I put the nose down and catch up ..... to Colin! Jon in the meantime was behind me desperately trying to keep up. Once I realise, I can slow down and they catch me. We then position for some pictures, which turn out quite good. I also try some breaks to the right for the video.

Once past Rivar Hill, we relax a bit and enjoy the rest of the flight. I join downwind at Yatesbury for 28. The downwind leg always feels so close to the ground here, due to the height of the ridge. I land, closely followed by the others and we park up together.

The tea and fayre at Yatesbury is as good as always, and so is the conversation.

When it's time to go, after prep and backtrack, I take off and again circle into the overhead. This time I am shadowing Colin on the way back. No too close, I have enough confidence to click off a few pictures of Colin's plane, G-JT. Ian doesn't go back directly as they want to go and have a look at Jon's new house from the air.
