Yatesbury Again

We are going to Yatesbury again today - always good for some tea and cake.

I have the outbound leg - after fuelling and prep, we are off on 26 and heading up the familiar valley past Bourne Park. It is getting towards crop circle season, so we are having a look around for them - no sign. A quick detour to Alton Barnes horse, but still nothing. I join downwind for 28 and land.

We go in and have tea, food and a chat. I turns out that this year, the farmers are making a stand and every time someone make a crop circle, the farmers will cut it out. They are hoping that it will demoralise the creators so they will stop, but this in turn has upset the people who make money giving tours of the circles.

Ian has the return leg - after take off, we turn back and head down towards the the valley, but he flies further south over the hills. It's amazing how different it all looks from a slightly different perspective. Back to Popham again and an overhead join for 26. Here I get a picture of the only crop circle I have found - right over the road from the airfield!

There doesn't seem to be much to say about today, but it was an enjoyable outing.
